What Open Access Play means

Open Access Play projects provide supervised play activities for school aged children. Open access means that the playscheme is open to all children in the local community on a first come first served basis. Supervised play activities are provided by staff on a sessional basis.

"While the project has a duty of care for the children while they are at the project, they are not responsible for ensuring that children remain on the premises, or for supervising their return home. The parent may instruct the child to stay at the project for a given time but it is not the responsibility of the playworkers to enforce this. The arrangement for the collection of the child must be between the parent and the child and not between parents and Forest School staff".
