Forest School events

We provide a wide range of forest school activities for children aged 0 – 12 years. During school term we offer Forest School Seedlings for children and their adult 0 – up to 5th birthday, sessions for children that are Home Educated, as well as sometimes being able to offer after school provision. Holiday provision, we try where we can to cater for all age groups offering: Seedlings 0 – 5th birthday, Mudbugs 5 – up to 8th birthday, Woodland Explorers 8 – 12th birthday and hold Family Fun sessions for 0 – 12 year olds and their adults. All of our provision is dependent on the funding we receive. Please scroll down the whole list to see what is in offer.

Tools Policy
Personal tools must not be brought to Forest School sessions. FSSNPT will provide all tools appropriate to the planned activities, to be used only under supervision.
We do not accept liability for any loss, damage, or injury arising from the use of personal tools brought to sessions.  
 

Coeden Fach After School Forest School

Join us for our Forest School session for 5-11 year olds (and their adults if under 8 years) please note we no longer send out Joining Instructions for sessions. Our trained Forest School staff facilitate the sessions to support child-led independent exploration, coupled with optional Forest School activities. We provide a unique and holistic approach to support play and child development. There is something for all ages and interests. Sessions take place at the Coeden Fach site, nestled within the beautiful grounds of Clyne Gardens. Finding Forest School Sessions at Coeden Fach, Clyne Gardens Here are two 2 separate instructions depending on which direction you are coming from. There is parking in the woodland car park. The other alternative is to use the top entrance of Clyne Gardens. Please do not park in St Cadwgs Walk. Westport Lane is fine. Directions from the top entrance of Clyne Walk into the top entrance of Clyne Gardens from St Cadwyg’s Walk entrance. Walk down the slope past the dog’s gravestones. When the slope levels, bear left and follow the path 100 metres to the left. This path is flat. You will reach the entrance to our site which has a large banner and noticeboard outside. Welcome!! Site address & directions: Mill Lane, Mayals, Swansea, SA3 5BY. Follow Mill Lane past the Mumbai restaurant almost to the top. Park in the Clyne Woods car park on your right and walk further up Mill Lane to find our brightly painted entrance gates on your left. You can also park in the car park close to the Woodman Pub and walk up through Clyne Gardens past the coffee van. We are open Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30am-1:30pm. Google maps will find Mill Lane and car park Disabled Access Our nearest postcode is SA3 5BY. Mill Lane Swansea. This is for Upper Castle View apartments which is a gated complex next door to our site. We are the solid, vividly painted gates which are 25 metres up Mill Lane from Upper Castle View gated entrance. You will need to drive past a road sign which says “No Access Beyond this Point”. Please park in our entrance or drive up the very narrow track until you are in the middle of our site. It’s a tight squeeze so you could park in the entrance if you prefer. Room is available to turn around inside the site. What3Words for the entrance to the site is blues.ladder.trade. This session is to explore nature and help with Swansea’s City Nature Challenge. Session is at in a natural setting at the Ornamental Garden at Singleton Park. Exploring in nature, mud kitchen, crafts, socialisation, seasonal nature activities and much more! Gnoll Park Seedlings Join us for Forest School Seedlings session for 0-4 (up to the age of 5) year olds and their adults, at Gnoll Park, Neath Gnoll Country Park, 134 Fairyland, Cimla, Neath SA11 3EF. Our trained Forest School staff, facilitate the sessions to support child-led independent exploration, coupled with optional Forest School activities. We provide a unique and holistic approach to support play and child development. There is something for all ages and interests. Forest School positively impacts all areas of a child’s development, from self-esteem, creativity, independence and social skills. We will no longer be sending out separate Joining instructions, so the confirmation is via Eequ. Parents/carers will be required to stay for the duration of the session. We ask that whilst parents/carer are at the session that they take responsibility for their child/children, and ask that you allow them to choose what they would like to be involved with, giving them an opportunity to make new friends and have fun. We have asked you for consent for First Aid and Photo consent when you registered, and have given this information to the team working on the day you are attending. Some of the team like to take a voice recording to gain feedback from the children and parent/carers attending as this makes it a little easier for them to give feedback. Please let the staff know if you are happy for your child to be recorded, this is anonymous. We will be providing drinks and snacks for the children, so please bring their own cup. You’re welcome to bring your own hot drink in a travel mug with a lid, or to have our refreshments. Please come dressed appropriately for the weather – wellies (or walking shoes/boots with thermal socks are warmer on cold days and wellies are often needed, when it has been wet). Waterproofs and layers if it is raining or cold, or if your child may enjoy water play. The sessions are relatively sheltered by tree cover or shelters however do consider hats and loose covered cotton clothing during hot spells. Thermal top and bottom base layers for colder days. Please bring spare socks and clothing as children are likely to get muddy/dirty/wet from their play. We do not provide sunscreen. Please always check your email before you leave for the session, in case we have to cancel a session due to gale force winds/extreme weather. In such cases, we do our best to reschedule. However, should we need to cancel a session (e.g. severe weather conditions) we will be in touch via the email provided upon booking, if necessary. Any questions please get in touch.
